CALENDAR OF EVENTS     

Important Carpool Information— Please Read
Carpool has been going great this week!  It has been wonderful to see all of the parents in the carpool lines.  Please remember the following, which will continue to help carpool run smoothly:

• Please abide by the designated time of pickup for your child(ren).  Early Childhood pick-up (2:50-3:05pm), Lower/Middle/Upper School pickup (3:15-completion).
• Please use Harbor Place Drive and not Harbor Park Road (the shortcut road) to come into the school for afternoon pickup.  If we can please use the longer route into school, it will help prevent traffic backups.
• Please be cognizant that our neighbors that share Jetton Street also need to be allowed to enter and exit the road as well.

A big thanks, once again, to parents, faculty and staff for all of your help and patience as we get started up this fall. The synergy that has been provided is greatly appreciated.

Get Ready for Curriculum Night!
Davidson Day will be holding their annual Curriculum Night on Wednesday, August 26th and Thursday, August 27th beginning at 6:30 each night. Come join us for a chance to meet our wonderful teachers and administrators. This will also be a great opportunity to get important classroom information that relates to your children and to see firsthand how committed we are in bringing out the very best in every child. 

Reminders:

• Curriculum Night for lower and middle-school will be on Wednesday.
• Curriculum Night for early childhood will be on Thursday.

We All Scream for Ice Cream
On Thursday, August 27th, the DDS Welcome Committee will be having a free ice cream social on the front lawn.  For any questions, please contact Margaret Mitchell at mmitchell@awcproducts.com or Lisa Kaouss at hklk44@gmail.com. The cold stone fun begins at 3:30!


Calling All Used Uniforms!
This is a very important message to all DDS families: Due to a low supply of uniforms, there is a great need for gently used uniforms. You may drop off your donated items in our used uniform bin located at the front desk. Look for the used uniform sale at both curriculum nights.

A Cup of Thanks 
The Parent Council would like to thank all families who attended the “New Parent Coffee” this past Wednesday. The event was a great success.


Can You Say Undefeated?
If you are the DDS Girls Varsity Volleyball team, you most certainly can. The team opened their season in dominating fashion by defeating Gaston Christian School 3-0. Congratulations to Coach Gallen and the entire team on an impressive win.
